70,000 Pints Gone: Police Hunt Two Stolen Trailer-Loads of Guinness

British police are trying to recover two stolen trailer truckloads of Guinness — approximately 800 barrels, the equivalent of around 70,000 pints, valued at 115,000 pounds. The beer was destined for pubs and was taken on a Monday night by two drivers who hauled the trailers from an industrial park in Runcorn, near Liverpool.
Cheshire Constabulary is investigating, and Diageo has confirmed it is aware of the incident involving theft of its kegs from a third-party logistics site and is cooperating with police.
Detective Sergeant Gary McClatchy put it plainly: it is famously said that Guinness is good for you, but that is only the case when it has been bought and paid for — and police will settle for nothing less than the return of every pint.
