Jeptha Creed Marks 10 Years With Solera Aged Bourbon, a First for All Nine Heirloom Corns

Jeptha Creed Distillery is marking a decade in business with a release ten years in the making: Solera Aged Bourbon, the family-owned Shelbyville distillery's 10th anniversary bottling. The mother-daughter team of Joyce and Autumn Nethery is celebrating with the first expression to unite all nine heirloom corn varietals the farm has grown — Bloody Butcher, Bruce's Blue, Blue Clarage, Hopi Blue, Hickory King, Jimmy Red, Oaxacan Green, Pink Heirloom, and White Cob White — brought together through a Solera aging process.

The recipe: a mash bill of 75% heirloom corn, 20% malted rye, and 5% malted barley, bottled at 100 proof. MSRP is $79.99 per 750ml.

The release debuts at the Kentucky Bourbon Festival September 10–13 and goes on sale at the distillery and online beginning September 17. Jeptha caps its anniversary year with Jammin' at Jeptha on October 10, headlined by Rodney Atkins.

A ten-year-old family distillery bottling its own farm's heirloom corn through a Solera — that is the kind of craft-whiskey story that doesn't need a celebrity endorsement. It is hard to get more Kentucky than a mother-daughter team and nine heirloom corns.
