Tobacco Veteran Leo Wijnbelt Joins CLE Cigar Co. to Run Its Honduran Operation

Leo Wijnbelt, a veteran of tobacco manufacturing, has joined CLE Cigar Co. as plant manager at the company's Havano Cigars factory in Danli, Honduras (previously known as The CLE Factory). CLE says he will oversee the company's entire tobacco operation.
Wijnbelt's career includes more than seven years at General Cigar Co., where he rose to director of tobacco purchasing, plus stints at Swisher and Universal Leaf. Wijnbelt says tobacco is all he has done in his career, so when Christian asked, it was an easy decision.
CLE's Christian Eiroa says Wijnbelt arrives as the company continues its expansion of the factory and its farming operations. A serious leaf man landing at an expanding boutique — good news for CLE smokers.
