Pursuit Spirits x Shortbarrel Drop 'Found Footage': Maple Bourbon Meets Double Oak Rye at 112.4 Proof

Louisville's Pursuit Spirits and Atlanta's Shortbarrel are combining two signature whiskeys into Found Footage, a limited-edition barrel-proof blend debuting Sept. 11 at the Kentucky Bourbon Festival in Bardstown. The blend pairs Shortbarrel's Sapsquatch maple-finished bourbon with Pursuit United Double Oak Rye — an unconventional bourbon-and-rye marriage bottled at 112.4 proof.

It comes in 700-milliliter bottles at a suggested retail of $99.99. Bottles first go on sale at the Pursuit Spirits booth at the Kentucky Bourbon Festival beginning at 2 p.m. Sept. 11, following the first Between Two Barrels session — quantities limited — with later availability through Seelbach's and at Pursuit Spirits on Whiskey Row in Louisville.

The found-footage horror framing is all in good fun — a legendary creature, baited Double Oak Rye, and a recovered camera tape behind the name and label. But the blending logic is serious: maple-finished sweetness against double-oaked spice and oak. Small-biz collaboration at its best — two craft names, one weird and wonderful bottle.
