Ruger Widens the RXM Line With an Optics-Ready Compact

A year after the RXM's much-debated debut, Ruger has expanded the platform with a compact-sized variant cut for a direct-mounted mini red dot, answering the loudest request from owners of the original.

Built around the same FireControl insert as the full-size — the serialized chassis that lets shooters swap grip modules — the new compact keeps the take-down simplicity that made the RXM a hit with first-time strikers while tightening the slide for concealment.

Retail pricing lands south of the $400 mark common for optics-ready striker guns, and Ruger says the new SKUs are shipping to distributors now. Followers of the platform can expect additional grip sizes and a threaded version before the year is out.

The message from Sturm, Ruger is plain: the company intends to hold its ground as a value leader in the striker-fired segment, and it is willing to iterate fast to keep pace.
